Korean Air ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating
Preview

 

 The Korean Air ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating series begins on Friday in Salt Lake City (USA). The World Cup series consists of six events across North America, Asia and Europe, held from October 2011 to February 2012 in which the world’s best short track skaters from over 20 countries will compete for World Cup titles and prize money.

 

At each event the men's and ladies' races are held over 500m, 1000m and 1500m and single distances determine the winners.  In addition, there are relay events for national teams over 3000m for the ladies and 5000m for the men.

 

 The series starts off in the United States of America at the Utah Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City on October 21 to 23 and continues the following weekend in Saguenay, Canada. The second segment of the series moves to Asia and will take place in Nagoya (JPN) from December 2-4 then the following week in Shanghai (CHN). The Korean Air ISU World Cup Short Track series picks up again in Europe on February 3-5 Moscow (RUS) with the final Event taking place the following weekend in Dordrecht (NED). A press release summarizing the first competition in Salt Lake City will be distributed on Sunday 23 October.
